The caring and compassionate management and staff of Lester Lackey & Sons Funeral Home provides individualized funeral services designed to meet the needs of each family in their time of loss. Our team of dedicated professionals is available to assist you in making funeral service arrangements for your loved one. From casket selection to selecting floral arrangements, the staff at Lester Lackey & Sons Funeral Home, we will guide you through the aspects of the funeral planning process.

Traditional funeral ceremonies can be planned according to each family's needs and desires. Traditional funeral services usually consist of family and friends visitation at the funeral home, optional wake service at a church or in our chapel, funeral services in a church or chapel, followed by burial or entombment. 

A graveside service has many of the same aspects as a traditional funeral service. This service only excludes the church or chapel service. Following the visitation or wake, the remains are transported to the burial location and a order of service is contacted followed by the interment. 

We offer a wide range of economical cremation services. 

• Traditional funeral services with a cremation following the services. 
  
• Church or chapel memorial service with cremations in an urn from our urn selection, accompanied with your choice of keepsakes and or floral arrangements.
  
• Direct Cremation - This option allows the families we serve to have their loved ones directly cremated after death.

Within the categories listed above, there are a number of options available to meet each family's needs.

This option allows the families we serve to have their loved one's remains casketed, buried or entombed without public visitation, funeral services, memorial services etc., with a committal at the final place of resting.

We offer a wide range of special services that add that spark of dignity and a touch of class to your loved one’s service. 

• Memorial DVD Tribute - A custom slide show of pictures of the decedent is selected by the family and the funeral home media specialist composes and publishes the presentation to a disc. This service allows the family the opportunity to reflect upon their loved one's life and have that disc to be cherished for many years to come. 
  
•  Horse Drawn Hearse - This service provides a touch of elegance to any funeral service.
• White Dove Release - "And I said, Oh that I had wings like a dove, for then would I fly away, and be at rest.” Psalm 55:6 KJV. The dove release symbolizes the release of your loved one's spirit from this earthly world to their eternal. 
  
• Balloon Release - This option is also offered and usually entails the release of balloons at the final resting location. These balloons can be colors of your choice or the favorite of your loved one.

When death occurs away from home (Newton County), the loss of a loved one becomes more of a stress on the family. Along with the emotional and financial stress, a family must deal with the stress of bringing their loved one home, and many times be faced with unnecessary charges in doing so. • Out of town removal, care and preparation of the body
  
• Placing of remains in a shipping container
  
• Securing of documents for shipping
