It is with great sorrow and deep respect that we announce the passing of Teshawna Malik Mitchell, a remarkable and radiant soul who gained her heavenly wings on May 24, 2026 . Born on June 8, 1995, Teshawna's life was marked by her unwavering warmth, infectious laughter, and a light that illuminated every room she entered.

Teshawna’s journey was one of remarkable achievements and heartfelt connections. She graduated from Alcovy High School in 2013, a foundation that propelled her to higher academic pursuits at Gordon State College. There, her dedication and intellect shone bright, earning her a place on the Dean’s List in 2018, and culminating in the attainment of her Bachelor of Science degree in 2019. Her academic accomplishments were a testament to her determination and passion for growth.

Her professional career began with Global Diagnostic Services in Conyers, Georgia. It was there that Teshawna's commitment and exceptional work ethic earned her the distinguished honor of Employee of the Year in 2023. Her colleagues remember her as a diligent and inspiring figure, whose presence brought positivity and excellence to her workplace.

Beyond her professional and academic life, Teshawna was a beacon of love and kindness. Described fondly as a beautiful soul both inside and out, she was known for her ever-present smile and the genuine affection she held for her family and friends. Those who had the privilege of knowing her were touched by her radiant spirit, her laughter, and the joyful essence she carried within her heart.

Teshawna is dearly survived by her loving parents, Mr. and Mrs. Theron “Shawn” and Charo “Tee” Mitchell, who nurtured and supported her throughout her life. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandmother, Ms. Jeannette Mitchell, and her grandfathers, Eddie J. Christian Jr. and Edward (Betty) Hamm Jr., and ahost of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends  all of whom held her close in their hearts.

The community will gather to honor and celebrate Teshawna’s life with a visitation on Tuesday, June 2, 2026, 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Lester Lackey & Sons Funeral Home, Inc., 1163 Reynolds Street SW, Covington, GA 30014. A Celebration of Life service will follow on Wednesday, June 3, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Sims Chapel Baptist Church, 61 Sims Chapel Rd, Covington, GA 30014, Rev. O Quintodd Bryant, Pastor. Rev. Harold Miller, Eulogist. Ms. Mitchell will lie instate from 11:00 AM until the hour of service.  The interment will take place immediately thereafter at Lawnwood Memorial Park, 1111 Access Road, Covington, GA 30014.

 Teshawna Malik Mitchell’s legacy of love, laughter, and unwavering light will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew her. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate a life lived with grace, strength, and an enduring warmth that will continue to inspire.
