Sandra Braswell

Sandra Yvonne Braswell, affectionately known as "Red," passed away peacefully on July 15, 2026. Born on April 7, 1956, in Covington, Georgia, Sandra's life was marked by her enduring strength and her unwavering dedication to those she loved.

Sandra was a beloved wife, mother, and friend. She was the cherished wife of George Braswell, with whom she shared a journey rooted in love and mutual respect. Together, they built a home filled with warmth and kindness—a legacy that lives on in the hearts of all who knew them.

Sandra was a devoted wife to George Braswell and a loving mother to her daughters, Tanya Yvette Green and Daria Neecole Braswell, and to her nephew, Edric Apryl Green, whom she loved as a son. She was a proud and cherished (Ma) as they call her to Dadrian Shy, Lamarius Benson and Antonio Dillard. Being a grandmother brought her immense joy, and she treasured every moment spent with her grandchildren.

Sandra shared a special bond with her siblings: Bernice (Bonnie) Cobb, Linda (Yogi) Green, and Charlene (Shot) Boisy Henderson. Her family was the center of her world, and she poured her love into each relationship. She leaves behind to cherish her memories a devoted friendship with Kenda Patton Barnes; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A graveside service honoring Sandra's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at Lawnwood Memorial Park,1111 Access Road, Covington, GA 30014. Friends and family are invited to gather and pay their respects during a visitation on Monday, July 27, 2026, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Lester Lackey & Sons Funeral Home, Inc., 1163 Reynolds Street SW, Covington, GA 30014.

Sandra will be remembered for her warm heart, her kindness, and the love she gave so freely. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew her and to a host of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.
