Gregory Griffieth, Sr.

Gregory Griffieth, Sr., affectionately known as Greg, left this world on July 18, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of warmth, laughter, and cherished memories. Born on August 18, 1968, in Walton County, GA Greg was blessed with a personality that brought joy to everyone around him. He had an enchanting ability to light up any room with his welcoming demeanor and great sense of humor, making him the life of every gathering he attended.

Family and Friends are invited to celebrate Gregory's Life and legacy during the visitation, which will be held on Friday, July 25, 2025, at Lester Lackey & Sons Funeral Home Chapel, 1163 Reynolds St. SW Covington, GA 30014 1:00 P.M. until 6:00 P.M. A Home-Going Service will be held on Saturday, July 26, 2025, at Poplar Hill A.M.E. Church, 623 Poplar Hill Road Covington, GA 30014, 12:00 Noon, Rev. John Feagin, Pastor Rev. Nathan Durham, Eulogist. Assisted by others. Gregory will lie in-state at the church at 11:00 A.M. until the hour of service. Interment, Poplar Hill AME Church, Covington, GA.

He is survived by his loving spouse, Debra Griffieth, three sons: Marcus (LaQuoya), Davin, and Cameron. Greg took immense pride in his role as a grandfather to four grandsons: Marcus Jr., Kyree , Giovonni and Maceo Griffieth who were the apples of his eye. He delighted in their accomplishments and cherished every moment spent together, enveloping them with love and guidance. His legacy is also continued through a daughter-in-law, Ciara Griffieth and host of siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends, all of whom were touched by his kindness and humor.

Though Greg's heartache of losing his beloved son, Gregory Griffieth, Jr., his mother, Annie Ruth Griffieth and his father, Herman Avery, Jr. marked deep moments of sorrow in his life, he embraced the beauty and complexity of family ties, ensuring that love prevailed amidst loss.
