Francis Mae Wise, passed away peacefully on April 13, 2026, in Covington, Georgia. Born on December 30, 1933, in Monticello, Georgia, Francis lived a full and cherished life marked by grace and resilience.

Her journey began in the small town of Monticello, where she was raised and nurtured. Francis carried the values and warmth of her birthplace throughout her life, touching the hearts of all who knew her. She was a beloved member of her community, known for her kindness and steadfast spirit.

Family, friends, and loved ones will have the opportunity to gather in remembrance and honor her memory. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 P.M. at Lester Lackey & Sons Funeral Home, Inc., 1163 Reynolds Street SW, Covington, GA 30014. This time will afford those close to Francis a chance to pay their respects and share their memories.

Following this, a Celebration of Life service is scheduled for Thursday, April 23, 2026, at 11:00 A.M. at New Bethel Grove Baptist Church, 527 New Bethel Grove Church Road, Monticello, GA 31064. This ceremony will provide a meaningful occasion for reflection, farewell, and gratitude for the remarkable life Francis led. Mrs. Wise will lie in-state at the church at 10:00 A.M. until the hour of service.Interment will be held at SouthView Cemetery.

Her life, spent largely in the beautiful regions of Georgia, remains a testament to love, dedication, and community spirit. Through these gatherings and in our memories, we honor her enduring impact and the grace with which she lived her days.
