Connie devoted 37 years of faithful service to the United States Postal Service. This remarkable career reflected her unwavering commitment, perseverance, and pride in hard work. Connie was not just a valued employee; she was a friend and mentor to her coworkers, embodying the spirit of teamwork and community.
Family was of utmost importance to Connie. She is survived by her loving siblings, Vickie Smith, and Larry (Alice) Smith, along with Eric Thomas and Vernon (Holly) Thomas. Connie's life was enriched by the presence of her 10 cherished nieces and nephews who brought her immense joy throughout her years. Additionally, she had a devoted best friend, Vera Burks, whose bond with Connie was truly special, illustrating the deep friendships that Connie fostered throughout her life.
The family invites friends and those whose lives were touched by Connie to join them in celebrating her life. Visitation will be held on Friday, February 13, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Lester Lackey & Sons Funeral Home, Inc., located at 1163 Reynolds Street SW, Covington, Georgia. A Celebration of Life will follow on Saturday, February 14, 2026, at 12:00 PM at Rock Spring Baptist Church, 2223 County Line Road, Mansfield, Georgia. Pastor Terry Porter, Eulogist.
