Altha Tereta Johnson Harris

Altha Tereta Johnson Harris, known affectionately to her family and friends as Tereta, passed away peacefully in her home on June 28, 2025, at the age of 73. Born on March 12, 1952, in Covington, She was a beloved member of her community and will be remembered for her warmth, kindness, and enduring spirit.

She brought joy to those around her through her passionate engagement in both her family life and community activities. 

Tereta is survived by her loving husband, Larry Harris. Their partnership was a testament to enduring love and support, and they shared countless memories together throughout their years.

The celebration of Altha's life will encompass several meaningful events. The visitation will be held on Friday, July 4, 2025, from 1:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Lester Lackey & Sons Funeral Home, located at 1163 Reynolds Street SW, Covington, GA 30014. 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, July 5, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Good Hope Baptist Church, 1142 Hwy 162, Covington, GA 30016. Pastor Gazzara Mitchell, Rev. Cecil J. Rozier, Sr.  Eulogist. Interment will be held at  Flat Shoals Cemetery in Covington, Georgia, Her remains will lie in state at at the church from 9:30 AM until the hour of service. The cortege' will assemble at her residence at 10:00 AM
