A wagon like a church is carried by it wheels. The wheels give it strength and mobility. When a wheel loses a spoke it can still carry the wagon but it is forever changed. The wagon will continue to function but it will do so off balanced because the missing spoke has forever impacted the wagon. Like that spoke now that Sister is no longer with us we will continue but the impact of her life, love and legacy will be forever felt.
The Missing Spoke
The church is more than a building of mortar and brick It is made of people of all paces both slow and quick.
It is the place where we celebrate and we cry, Within her walls we see our lives swiftly pass by.
Each person has their mission and their place, God allows them to occupy a particular space.
We don’t know how long they will be a part of this great place, Each person must run their own race.
When the time comes and God comes to get his own, The church must continue to move even with one spoke gone.
The wagon wheel is off balances and a little shaky now, But with God and grace we will make it some how.
We loved “Sister” with all our heart,But now she must go on and take God’s part.
Sleep well Sister you did your best, God has granted you eternal rest.
We will continue to love you as best we can, Knowing one day we will all be reunited in that great Land!!!

I heard the news today, Tuesday, May 30th and my heart sank within me. We shared good work times together. We laughed, we agreed, we disagreed then we agreed again. You called my name so often during the days we worked together and oh how I wish you were still around to call it. You helped me through my first assignments as charge nurse but then you told me "you should know that by now". Your brutal honesty was shocking at first but I came to love who you are because you were real. You often took the time to ask how my younger brother and sister were doing, knowing that they had just moved in with me and that this was a learning experience for me as I was their "mom". I spoke to you on May 18th and had no idea it was the last time we would speak. 4th floor at Piedmont Newton will not be the same. No-one to welcome me with that effervescent passion. I hope you know you were loved and appreciated. Girl, I still can't believe you are gone. This much I know, you will be missed. Love Bobbet.

I worked with Deborah at Newton Medical Center for several years. We talked a lot about our autoimmune disease. Deborah was liked and loved by all. I did not get to see her after my retirement but thought of her often.

I've worked with Deborah for many years. We sometimes did not agree on things , but was always able to work through our differences and usually came out laughing about it. I was blessed not only to call her my co worker but friend. She will be missed.
